Atlantic Wings East Africa Trip
19 Jul 10
The Atlantic Wings and Lockton’s event at the East African Aero Club, Nairobi, Kenya on the 12 July was a great success and well attended by local operators. Overall there was a very positive feeling from operators in Kenya with many claiming to have flown more hours in the first 6 months of 2010 than the whole of 2009. In addition to increased flying, Bluebird has taken delivery of their Q400s and a brand new Cessna Caravan and Helicopter have arrived for Phoenix Aviation. Over at the International Airport, fleet expansion is planned for Jetlink with additional CRJs arriving in the near future.
With Kenya acting as the staging post for the global NGO network supporting operations in Somalia and the Sudan and the Chinese investment in the region, steady growth is forecast in the region.
