The upturn in interest in the business jet sector has taken us completely by surprise. Is it a general optimism in the global market or is it just savvy buyers taking advantage of the tremendous bargains?
Trevor has had an astonishing number of enquiries for Gulfstream GIVs, Challengers and Hawker800s. These are aircraft that have suddenly gone from being exclusive to being entry level planes. The GIV market lost as much as 50% of its value and now excellent aircraft are routinely trading for between $9m to $12m.

Older model Challengers are being found at "give-away" prices ($3m?) despite being a superb wide-body, stage III aircraft. Hawker 800s were hard to find at $5m a year ago and now $2.5m is a fair price.

But, all will not go the buyers way for much longer. Already Trevor is seeing sellers refuse first offers and look long and hard at subsequent proposals.
